RiseUp Korea 2015 Registration

Welcome to registration for the Rise Up Korea 2015 Clinic! We’ll be accepting registrations through May 11th.
Session descriptions, details, prices and such are below – so read on!

What: Two weekends of advanced ultimate teaching goodness, brought to you by Rise Up and KUPA.

Who: Mario O’Brien is the head coach of the clinic. Mario is the producer and creative director of Rise Up, an ultimate education company which specializes in providing video-on-demand instructional resources made by world-class coaches. You may have met Mario last year at the 2014 Rise Up Korea clinic. Mario brings a special combination of playing experience, teaching skills and enthusiasm to ultimate and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome him back to Korea! To learn more about Mario and Rise Up, hear it straight from him in thisinterview and check out his sweet website.

Joining Mario as assistant coach is Matt Mastrantuono. Matt is a 5-year Rhino veteran and 2-year captain. He is a 2 time captain of his former college team, Miami University, and was selected All-Region (Top 7 player in the Great Lakes Region) in 2008. Matt is the Director of the first feature length documentary on a club ultimate team, “Chasing Sarasota.” In addition, he is the Executive Director of ultimate’s premier live storytelling series, “Flatball Radio” and directed a web series about Toronto GOAT, “The Herd.” Matt has spoken at the Ultimate Coaches and Players Conference in Boston, been on the production team for RISE UP clinics from Seattle to Amsterdam.

Where: The clinic will take place in Daejeon, using the Gapcheon Riverside fields.

Curriculum: The 2015 Rise Up Korea clinic will build on the work we did last year. This means that we won’t be repeating anything done in 2014. Participants will be split into groups according to skill. All participants will cover the same material, although players in the advanced group may move through the curriculum at a faster pace.

Schedule: We are offering a Korean weekend (with full-time translators for the coaches) an English weekend, and a third day open to both languages. The Korean and English days will cover the same material. We ask that English speakers only attend the English weekend. If you are a Korean speaker and can only attend the second weekend, we will provide a translator for your convenience.
